Quarterly Summary Financial and Utilization Data Reports – Cal. Health & Safety Code § 128740

The following summary financial and utilization reports must be reported by every hospital within 45 days of the end of each quarter to the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development:

• Number of licensed beds
• Average number of available beds
• Average number of staffed beds
• Number of discharges
• Number of inpatient days
• Number of outpatient visits
• Total operating expenses
• Total inpatient gross revenues by payer, including Medicare, state Medicaid, and county indigent programs. 
• Total outpatient gross revenues by payer
• Deductions in revenue including contractual adjustments
• Total capital expenditures
• Total net assets
• Total number of outpatient visits, inpatient days, and discharges by payer
• Total net patient revenues by payer
• Other operating revenue
• Non operating revenue net of non operating expenses

The Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development must make the hospital reports available to any interested person upon request and payment of a fee.
