Connecticut defines the standard of care for health facilities that provide emergency treatment to sexual assault victims as (1) providing the victim with “medically and factually accurate and objective information relating to emergency contraception;” (2) “informing [the victim] of the availability of emergency contraception, its use and efficacy;” and (3) providing the victim with emergency contraception upon their request. Health care providers are not required to provide emergency contraception to victims that are pregnant.
