Privileged Communication
Permits individuals or their guardians or representatives to prohibit the introduction of confidential information they provided to a licensed counselor into a judicial proceeding. Identifies the circumstances in which counselors may disclose privileged client information (e.g., they have a reasonable suspicion regarding the abuse or neglect of a child, if an immediate threat is made against an identifiable victim, if a court ordered the counselor to examine the individual, etc.).
