Patient Care Reporting
Requires EMS agencies and personnel to document provided care data in the electronic patient care reporting system. Requires EMS personnel to provide a receiving medical facility or EMS agency with a patient care report when transporting a patient and to submit the report to the electronic system. Defines the patient report as including information generated by patient monitoring equipment (e.g., cardiac rhythm strips, ECG tracings, etc.). Authorizes the Office of Emergency Medical Services to access EMS agency reports. Prohibits the release of patient care reports without a patient’s consent unless release occurs in a specified circumstance (e.g., to a health care facility, pursuant to a court order, etc.).
