The law establishes the Oregon Patient Safety Commission, which is to improve patient safety by reducing the risk of adverse events occurring in Oregon. The Commission must do this by:
- Establishing a confidential, voluntary serious adverse reporting system;
- Establishing quality improvement techniques to reduce adverse events;
- Disseminate evidence based practice guidelines to improve patient health.
