Notification of Incident Process
Requires providers of DD waiver services to immediately report critical incidents to the Behavioral Health Division, the Department of Family Services, the participant’s case manager, and law enforcement. Defines critical incidents as including suspected abuse, suspected neglect, or death. Requires providers to report non-critical incidents to the Division, case manager, and legally authorized representatives within one business day. Defines non-critical incidents as including medication errors, serious injuries, unscheduled emergency room visits, etc.). Requires providers to implement reporting policies and procedures and to review internal incident data as a means of preventing future incidents.
