Test Information Confidentiality
Information about blood borne pathogen test results cannot be disclosed without the patient’s consent. No health care facility, individual or employer can disclose to an emergency services person individually identifiable data, such as name or address of an individual infected with a blood borne pathogen without a written release signed by the patient. The emergency services medical record must not contain the name or address or other identifying information about the patient.
