Retention, Storage and Retrieval
The medical record of a nursing home resident must be keptafte for five yearsr death or discharge. All medical records must be stored in a secure and confidential space. Current residents' records must be kept onsite, but the facility must establish procedures for retrieval and security of medical records kept off-site.
