All health professionals providing care to a newborn infant that administers a hearing test and screening must disclose the results of the tests to the department. This reporting requirement only applies to those hearing tests and screens performed on infants less than 12 months old or children less than 3 years old if those children have been diagnosed with hearing loss. All reports must include the type, degree, and symmetry of the diagnosis.
