This will open in a new window
All individuals employed to provide health care, mental health, or other human services that have reasonable cause to believe an adult has been abused or neglected must make an oral report to the county Department of Social Services where the abuse or neglect occurred. Any report made by a physician or other health professional does not breach any privileged communication duty. All such reports must contain the name of the adult and the description of the abuse or neglect. If possible, the report should include information referring to the cause of abuse or neglect. The county department must then make a report to a police agency about any criminal activity that may have occurred.
