Mich. Comp. Laws Ann. § 333.2837 - Physical complication or death resulting from abortion; report

Physicians must report to the department of community health (“department”) all complications or deaths related to abortions that occur in woman under their care. The department will create a standardized form for this reporting and establish a time period for the reporting to occur. The form may not include any information that identifies the woman or could reasonably identify the woman.

The department will use the data from the reports in the annual abortion statistical report. The department must destroy the individual reports within 5 years of their receipt.
