The purpose of Maryland's Health Care Commission is to:
- Reduce health disparities in Maryland;
- Increase access to health care services;
- Redirect nonemergency emergency room use to community health resources;
- Develop coordinated, integrated systems of community-based care; and
- Assist patients in establish a medical home with a community health resource.
