All health maintenance organizations are required to annually file with the Commissioner of Insurance, the following:
- Financial statements;
- Statistics on cost and utilization of services;
- Other performance related information needed by the Commissioner.
An annual report must be prepared based on the information provided. The law also provides that all of the reports and data provided for the required reporting remain confidential. Access to the information may only be granted by the Commissioner. However, the final report made by the Division of Health Care Policy and Finance must be public record.
