This will open in a new window
The Maine Quality Forum is established within Dirigo Health (an independent executive agency that arranges for comprehensive, affordable health care coverage to eligible small employers). Part of the Forum’s responsibilities include disseminating research surrounding health care quality and evidence based medicine. The Forum must also adopt measures to evaluate and compare health care quality and provider performance, and coordinate its quality data with other state agencies, including the Maine Health Data Organization. The Forum must also collaborate with consumers, providers, and health plans to report comparative health care quality reports. The Forum must also provide educational materials to consumers. To further the use of health information technology within Maine, the Forum must conduct a technology assessment, and encourage the adoption of electronic health record systems by providers.
