“Investigations; right to examine evidence; subpoenas; confidentiality”
The director of the department of health services may investigate alleged midwife professional violations and may investigate any documents or evidence relevant to assessing a midwife’s conduct or competency. Any patient records (e.g., clinical records, lab reports, etc.) are not accessible by the public and patient names that appear in these records must remain confidential during the investigation and any resulting hearing.
