Informed Consent
Requires health care providers to obtain the informed consent of a newborn infant’s parent or guardian prior to performing pulse oximetry screening or bloodspot specimen collection. Permits an infant’s parent or guardian to object to tests by completing a waiver form. Requires health care providers to submit completed waiver forms to the Department of Health within ten days of an infant’s birth.
