Reporting of incidents
All intermediate care facilities must report any serious incident or unusual occurrence that threatens the health, safety, and welfare of the clients or staff to the licensing authority. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Fire, flood, or other natural disaster that creates structural damages to the facility or causes health hazards;
- Serious outbreak of contagious diseases dangerous to public health;
- Serious human errors by staff members that result in the death, serious illness, or physical impairment of a client.
- Any incident of abuse or neglect of a client, patient, or resident of a facility in accordance with the Resident Abuse and Neglect Act.
