“Immunity relating to review of medical practices”
Arizona grants immunity for civil liability to persons that provide information or make recommendations to a peer review committee. Hospitals and outpatient surgical centers are immune from civil liability arising from their decision to suspend, limit, or revoke a provider’s privileges. However, a provider may seek an injunction against a hospital or outpatient surgical center if they believe that their privileges were erroneously suspended, limited, or revoked.
Arizona clarifies that the immunity granted in this provision does not extent to allegation of medical malpractice.
