Idaho Code Ann. § 39-606, Reports

Requires reports to the Director of the Department of Health and Welfare regarding STD cases to include patient names.  Permits public health officials to use confidential disease reports that contain patient identifying information for investigatory purposes, but makes disclosure subject to Idaho’s Public Records Act (Idaho Code Ann. § 74-101 et seq.). Imposes misdemeanor liability on persons that willfully or maliciously disclose confidential information without authorization from the identified individual or permission from another provision of law.
