“Health screening services; violation; classification”
Arizona establishes requirements for health screening services. For example, physicians must direct or supervise health screening services and only physicians may make a diagnosis following the collection of health-related data.
Communications between individuals that receive health screening and their providers are privileged. These individuals also have a right possess records related to the screening and a right to the confidentiality of such records.
Providers that violate the health screening requirements are criminally liable for a class 2 misdemeanor while health care facilities that violate the requirements may face suspension or revocation of their license.
