“Trauma centers; selection; quality assurance; records under the public health law”
The Department of Health must collect trauma care and registry data from trauma centers, hospitals, emergency service providers, local or regional trauma agencies, or medical examiners to evaluate trauma system effective, ensure compliance with standards, and monitoring patient outcomes. A trauma center, emergency service providers, local or regional trauma agencies, or medical examiner may disclose to the department patient care quality assurance proceedings and records. Quality assurance proceedings and records obtained by the department must be held confidential.
The Department of Health may conduct onsite visits of hospitals, emergency service providers, local or regional trauma agencies, or medical examiners to review the care, transport, treatment or examination of trauma patients.
