“Standards for client records; treatment and quality assurance under the Department of Children and Family Services regulations”
Community mental health providers, excluding alcohol and drug abuse services, must comply with the following requirements:
- Develop a record for each client;
- Store client records in a locked room or container and ensure that the information in client records is safeguarded against loss, defacement, tampering or use by unauthorized persons;
- Maintain the confidentiality of client records;
- Develop treatment plan goals with the client; and
- Establish a quality assurance program, including utilization and peer review systems.
