Exceptions to notification of parent.
Specifies the circumstances in which a physician may perform an abortion procedure on a pregnant minor without notifying their parents or guardians (e.g., when the parent has authorized the procedure in writing, when the minor obtains a court order authorizing the abortion without notification, etc.). Permits physicians to perform abortions without notification if a medical emergency justifies the procedure. Requires physicians to certify the necessity of the procedure in the minor’s medical record. Permits physicians, when requested by a minor, to notify the minor’s grandparents instead of their parents. Requires physicians to place the notification form in the minor’s medical record.
