Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment.
Classifies Medicaid enrollees aged 20 or younger as eligible for Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) services. Defines the scope of EPSDT services as including items such as comprehensive health assessments on newborns, immunizations, and other child development screenings. Requires children to undergo lead toxicity screening and makes such screening mandatory for children aged 36 months to 72 months if they have yet to receive such screening. Requires providers to document screening results in the child’s medical records.
