Certified naturopathic doctor may dispense natural substances, drugs, or devices to a patient so long as they comply will rules regarding the labeling and storage of substances, drugs, and devices. Naturopathic doctors must document the dispensing of a substance, drug, or device in their patient’s medical record. The naturopathic physicians medical board may inspect dispensing practices to ensure physicians’ compliance with recordkeeping, labeling, and storage requirements.
Naturopathic doctors that dispense substances, drugs, or devices without proper certification may receive a $300 to $1000 fine for each violation.
