Disclosure of a public health incident.
Authorizes public health officials to disclose protected health information (“PHI”) to a health care provider or the public when disclosure is necessary to prevent the spread of a disease, identify the source of a disease, reduce public anxiety about a disease, or assist the public in understanding their exposure risk. Limits disclosure to the minimum necessary to carry out the purpose of this section. Authorizes disclosing public health officials to require providers that receive PHI to maintain the confidentiality of that information.
