Continuous quality improvement program
Requires pharmacies to establish a continuous quality improvement program as a means of identifying and preventing medication errors. Defines reportable events as including incorrect dosage, strength, or drug, providing drugs to the wrong patient, or incorrectly labeling or packaging drugs. Requires pharmacies to document reportable events and analyze the data to reduce future errors. Authorizes the Pharmacy Board to inspect and copy records. Records must be maintained for at least two years following the record date.
