“Confidentiality of health information”
Health plans, health care providers, or health care institutions that provide health care to a person enrolled in a state administered developmental disability services program must release health information to either the person’s service provider or a person/agency overseeing the person’s care and the department of economic security. This health information must include medical records, behavioral records, and information about the person’s condition, treatment, medication use, and device use.
Arizona permits competent adults and emancipated minors to restrict the release of their medical or behavioral health records to the extent permitted by Arizona or federal law.
