Any documents, materials or information prepared by or received by the patient safety committee or governing board of a medical facility related to patient safety data are confidential and may not be publicly disclosed. The department of health may access serious event reports submitted by a medical facility for purposes of any licensure, approval or corrective action against a facility or a health care worker.
