“Complications; reporting requirements”
Licensed health care professionals provide care to a woman who they believe needed medical attention due to a recent abortion or attempted abortion must report this incidence to the department of health services. The report must include information regarding the date of the recent abortion, the woman’s pregnancy and/or abortion history, the facility where the abortion was performed, the type of abortion procedure used, subsequent medical treatment, and whether the abortion has resulted in permanent health conditions. The report may not identify the woman who had the abortion. The hospital or facility in which the professional works must file the report to an internet portal specified by the department of health services unless the hospital or facility obtains a waiver from the department to file using a different method.
