Client Care
Requires birth centers to establish client care polices and procures that address items such as patient education, screening for high risk pregnancies, breastfeeding support, and 24/7 clinical staff availability. Requires a center’s clinical staff to develop of plan of care for each client that includes plans for postpartum services. Defines postpartum services as including maternal and newborn assessments and referrals, postpartum depression screening, and newborn screening pursuant to the screening requirements established in C.R.S. § 25-4-1001 et seq. Requires birth centers to refer newborns with abnormalities for follow up services and to transfer the newborn’s records to their pediatric care provider.
