The Department of Health maintains a system to collect and disseminate data on cases of cancer in the state by anatomical site, medical and occupational history of patients, stage of disease and other necessary data. Hospitals and laboratories must report cases of cancer to the department. All reports received by the Department will be kept confidential and will not be open to public inspection or dissemination. Reports may be used strictly for research purposes, subject to supervision by the department.
