“Annual budget; request and allocation”
The Arizona health care cost containment system administration must request appropriations for the comprehensive behavioral health service system as part of the administration’s annual budget request. The administration’s budget request must specify that at least 20% of the requested appropriations will be used for prevention an early identification programs and that a 5% maximum will be used for evaluating the system. The budget request must establish priorities for allocating funds for services. The administration must consider the needs of cultural and ethnic groups and persons living in rural and urban areas when formulating the budget request.
