105. Mass. Code Regs. 302.050. - Medical Records Abstraction
This will open in a new window
Abstractors must be qualified and trained to review and abstract medical records for the Congenital Abnormalities Registry. Abstractors are given access to portions of medical records when a provider sends incomplete information to the Registry. When a reported diagnosis has occurred and the physician or provider has not sent complete information to the Registry, abstractors have access to those portions of the medical record required for complete information for reporting the diagnosis to the Registry. Abstractors must provide notice to inspect the medical records, and do so during normal business hours. If there is additional relevant information beyond what is required to be reported, abstractors must get approval from the Commission.
