“Interpreter Service – Coordinator”
Each acute hospital in connection with its emergency department service shall designate a coordinator of interpreter services. The coordinator of interpreter services is responsible for: (a) conducting an annual language needs assessment of the service area (b) developing written policies and procedures for use in the hospital's emergency department (c) overseeing the training and assessment process for both interpreters and hospital staff (d) developing an ongoing, documented quality assurance program and (e) establishing and publicizing grievance procedures.
