This article examines physicians who have a basic electronic health record ("EHR") system in place and meet the meaningful use criteria. The study referenced in the article also looked at the ability to the EHRs for patient panel management. The authors found that 43.5% of physicians surveyed had a basic EHR system, and 9.8% met meaningful use criteria. Computerized systems for managing patient population were also found not to be widespread.
