Health plans may voluntarily submit data directly to the Department of Health Services or must submit data to state agencies that forward the information the Department. The Department must collect the following from health plans:
- Financial data;
- Market conduct;
- Quality indicators, including measures of quality care;
- Grievances and complaints data.
State agencies must submit data to the Department in electronic format annually. Each state agency must review the data and verify it before sending it to the Department. The Department may include caveats for information released to the public.
