False statements, fraud — Penalties
Individuals or entities are guilty of a felony for:
- Knowingly making false statements or misrepresenting material facts while applying for medical care program payments.
- Knowingly making false statements or misrepresenting material facts that will be used to determine their eligibility for medical care program payments or using a scheme, to falsify or conceal, such material facts.
- Concealing their knowledge of an event that will affect their right, or the right of a person they represent, to receive payment with the intent to fraudulently obtain payment.
