Maintenance of Patient Records by Denturists
Any denturist who treats patients must maintain complete treatment records regarding patients treated. These records must include (but are not limited to) treatment plans, patient charts, patient histories, correspondence, financial data and billing. These records must be retained for 5 years in an orderly, accessible file and should be readily available for inspection by the Secretary.
Patients may request that copies of records be forwarded to a second party with a written request. The denturist may charge a reasonable fee to cover mailing and clerical costs for making the copies.
