If a person submits a written copy for a patient's records, a provider must be reimbursed by the requestor at the time of delivery for all reasonable expenses incurred in complying with the request, of up to $0.75 per page for copying and up to $10 for a search fee. A provider must provide one copy of medical records without charge to an indigent person or authorized representative if the medical records are requested for the purpose of supporting a claim or appeal under any provision of the Social Security Act.
