Additional Requirements Regarding Drug Records
Licensed Physicians in Texas must maintain records regarding their “purchase and disposal of drugs and controlled substances.” The records must include: (1) sale or disposal dates; (2) the identity of the drug or controlled substance recipient; and (3) the reason for dispensing drugs to the recipient. Physicians that fail to comply with this requirement face revocation of their license.
