Explanation required prior to acceptance of voluntary inpatient -- informed consent.
Requires inpatient psychiatric facilities to explain “voluntary inpatient treatment” to individuals that seek admission under such status and to obtain individuals’ informed consent for admission. Specifies the information that such facilities must include in the application for admission. Requires facilities to include an individual’s signed informed consent in their record and give the patient a copy of their consent and a statement of their rights.
