The Trauma Registry.
Establishes reporting requirements for the Colorado’s trauma registry. Defines the data elements that facilities must report (e.g., patient identifying information, injury information, inpatient care information, etc.) and identifies the facilities that must report (e.g., Level I to V designated facilities, pediatric trauma centers, etc.).
Classifies trauma registry data as confidential if it identifies a patient, physician, or originated in a patient’s medical record. Prohibits admission of this data in any civil or criminal proceeding. Permits the Department to create policies for permitting access to de-identified data.
