The results of all hearing screenings performed on infants born in Tennessee facilities shall be reported to the department of health. The department will refer any child who did not pass the screening to the Tennessee early intervention system or the department of education for follow-up. Children who have been identified with hearing loss or conditions that place them at high risk for hearing loss shall be referred to the Tennessee early intervention system.
