“Records required for market conduct purposes under the insurance law”
A health insurer must maintain its records in a manner that the insurance commissioner can readily ascertain whether the insurer complies with state insurance laws and rules and standards outlined by NAIC. Health insurers must maintain records on network adequacy, utilization review, quality assessment and improvement, and provider credentialing for market conduct examinations and must be retained for five years.
