“Treatment for drug abuse under the Controlled Drug Act”
Any minor 12 years of age or older may voluntarily admit himself to treatment for drug dependency at any municipal health department, state facility, public or private hospital or clinic, a state or local social welfare agency, or a licensed physician or advanced practice registered nurse without the consent of a parent or guardian. The treating facility, agency, or individual must keep records on the treatment given to minors and the information contained in the records are confidential and privileged. Information may not be disclosed to third parties without the consent of the patient except for rehabilitation, research, or statistical and medical purposes.
