“Conditions of genetic testing under the public health law”
Written, informed consent is required to conduct a genetic test unless it is performed to establish paternity, test newborns for metabolic disorders, to conduct a criminal investigation and prosecution, or to perform the functions of the office of chief medical examiner. The results of a genetic test may not be disclosed to a third party unless the individual who was tested provided written, informed consent.
