The law prohibits any person from disclosing information contained in a vital record or to copy such information. However, this restriction is subject to certain exceptions, including:
- A listing of people who are born or die on a certain day;
- Disclosure of information contained in vital records for research purposes;
- Pursuant to an application for a copy of a certified record;
- Copies of death records over 50 years old.
