Privacy and confidentiality
Grants hospice patients rights to privacy and confidentiality. Specifies how hospice facilities must act in order to respect these rights. These actions include obtaining a patient’s approval to release their personal and medical records. Provides exceptions for release of records in accordance with law or upon the patient’s transfer to another facility.
