Prevention and control of pneumonia
Requires nursing facilities to immunize residents against pneumonia within 14 days of admission if the resident has not already received an immunization and a health provider recommends that they be immunized. Provides a waiver for medical beliefs or medical contraindication and permits residents to refuse the immunization. Requires facilities to document the receipt or waiver in the resident’s medical record.
